Delta HS/EHS Students Receive Books

Thanks to the First Book Organization, we recently distributed approximately 1190 books to children enrolled in Delta Head Start/Early Head Start programs.

First Book has distributed more that 85 Million books and educational materials to low income families throughout the US and Canada. Delta HS/EHS is very excited to collaborate with this great organization in promoting literacy development.

Stuff the Bus 2011

Thanks to all who helped Stuff the Bus in 2011!

The generous citizens of Garvin Co. showed tremendous holiday spirit by donating approximately 250 pounds of food and several coats to the local food and clothing drive.

Delta Public Transit and Delta Community Action appreciates those who participated in this worthy local cause.

"Very pleased to congratulate our parents, community members, and partners on their awesome job of collecting for the Dollar Per Child Campaign. They collected and are sending in $501.86 to National Head Start Association for this cause. GREAT JOB!"

Although this video is shot at Little Brown School in South Carolina, teachers at Delta Head Start/Early Head Start utilize many of the same ideas in local classrooms every day.

Stuff the Bus Donations

Mary Rutherford of Lindsay brought in a bag of gently used outerwear this morning to help Stuff the Bus.

Thank you, Mary!

You can help 'Stuff the Bus' by bringing non-perishable food items and new or gently used coats to the Delta Public Transit dispatch office located at 215 West Paul in Pauls Valley or to any Delta CAP office .

All donations will be used to fill Delta Community Action's Garvin county food pantry. Items will be collected until Tuesday, December 20.
